💡 Florida families

Your PEP scholarship may pay for pickleball lessons.

Florida’s Personalized Education Program (PEP) scholarship — administered by Step Up For Students — lets eligible K–12 families spend funds on physical-education instruction. The state’s official purchasing guide includes “sports lessons, including individual training or group training,” so private or group pickleball lessons from an eligible provider can qualify as PE.

Award amounts and approved uses are set by the program and change annually; always confirm current eligibility and approved expenses with Step Up For Students before you buy. Coaches: becoming an approved provider lets scholarship families pay you directly — a fast-growing customer base.

Pickleball for kids & juniors

Junior clinics, after-school programs, summer camps, and family open play — run by vetted local facilities and coaches. Pick “Kids / juniors” in the matcher to see youth programs near you.

🧒

Junior clinics & camps

Age-grouped instruction that’s easy to pick up — pickleball’s low barrier makes it a great first racquet sport.

🏫

Counts as homeschool PE

Structured pickleball instruction can count toward your homeschooler’s physical-education requirement.

👨‍👩‍👧

Family-friendly play

Many facilities host all-ages open play and parent-and-kid sessions — a whole-family activity.

🏫 Homeschool families

Pay for your child’s lessons with the PEP scholarship.

If pickleball is part of your homeschooler’s PE, Florida’s PEP scholarship can help cover eligible instruction — the same “sports lessons, individual or group training” category above. See our sister guide, basketball for homeschool PE, for how the PE-plus-funding pieces fit together.

How PEP works ↗

Confirm approved expenses and eligibility with Step Up For Students before purchasing. All youth programs listed here are in-person and family-oriented; TryPickleball keeps kids’ programs entirely separate from any adult social features.
